You should call National Grid and ask them to join The forgiveness program. For gas bills call 1-800-233-5325 and for electric bills call 1-888-211-1313.

Eligibility:

1. Account balance must be $300 or more and at least 60 days past due.

2. The account must have the National Network Low Income Tax discount (if not subscribed as explained above)

3. The customer must pay their monthly budget amount each month and on time. At the end of one year of paying the amount stipulated by National Grid, the remainder of the account will be forgiven.
